A Light & Airy Summer Wedding at Westwood Country Club

It’s no secret that white flowers and greenery are a huge wedding trend at the moment, and today’s feature wedding is a perfect example of why this fresh, neutral look is so popular! Planned to perfection by Simcha’s Events and beautifully photographed by Ashley Pieper Photography, Ellie & Jared’s Westwood Country Club wedding was light, airy and utterly romantic.

Ellie’s modern romantic bouquet featured a mix of classic garden roses and textural blooms like orlaya in white and cream tones paired with emerald green ruscus. The combination created a modern take on a classic bridal bouquet, perfect for this August wedding!

The vaulted wood-beam ceilings and stone walls of the main ballroom at Westwood always remind me of an old English castle, and by adding greenery to the two large brass chandeliers, we transformed the space into a whimsical fairytale! The romantic atmosphere was enhanced by an ethereal chuppah adorned with white blossoms and crawling vines. It was a gorgeous setting for Ellie & Jared to say their vows surrounded by family and friends!

Following the ceremony, the vendor team leapt into action to transform the space for dinner. I always love how guests are oblivious to the organized chaos happening behind closed doors while they enjoy cocktail hour just a few feet away. But when you have a wonderful vendor team, room flips seem almost easy!

During cocktail hour, guests found their seating assignments on a hanging place card installation inspired by the groom! Jared told us he sketched the idea on a napkin while out to dinner one night… you never know when inspiration will strike, and I love that we were able to bring his idea to life!

The interesting thing about Westwood is that the main ballroom space has a rustic castle vibe, while the adjoining dining room feels very elegant and formal. This presents unique design challenges, as you don’t want the tables in one space to feel like they don’t belong in the other. Ellie’s neutral white and greenery palette worked perfectly throughout both spaces, and the romantic floral designs and mix of long and round tables tied both areas of the reception together.

Accents of gold and glowing candlelight set a romantic tone throughout the entire reception. I also love how Ellie & Jared chose to sit at a family table together with their parents and siblings, as opposed to a smaller sweetheart table!

How fabulous are the textural fondant flowers on this cake by The Cakery?!

Congratulations Elli & Jared!! We’re so thrilled to have been a part of your magical day!
