A Bespoke Blue and White Wedding at Meadowbrook Country Club
Everything about Nicole and Chris's wedding day was bespoke, from the creative escort card wall to the daring cake display. Their clear vision and unique design style produced one of the spring’s most stunning soirees.
Nicole’s vision for her wedding day was a modern take on a timeless color combination. She chose shades of light and dark blue, paired with white for a crisp and classic wedding look. To add interest to her color combination, she wanted her florals to include shades of blush and pink. The impact, as you will see is a romantic, garden inspired wedding with touches of European influence.
As one of the few purely white blossoms, Chris' boutonniere featured a miniature calla lily accented with a hint of blue delphinium. When paired with the delphinium's dusty blue hue, this modern flower exudes an air of timeless sophistication.
A Church Ceremony
For their ceremony, we adorned the altar with two grand floral arrangements, one on each side.
The church's breathtaking stained-glass windows looked exquisite next to the freeform style of the large arrangements.
Outdoor Cocktail Hour
At Meadowbrook Country Club, guests enjoyed a cocktail hour outdoors with specialty cocktails and passed hors d ‘oeuvres. Accompanying the venue's magnificent patio and the late spring sunshine was the melodic sound of a string quartet.
The escort card wall was a surprise for the newlyweds, courtesy of Nicole's mom, Lucy! The chinoiserie-inspired print was the quintessential expression of Nicole’s modern take on the classic blue-and-white wedding motif and the ideal backdrop to welcome guests to the wedding reception. To create this breathtaking installation, Lucy collaborated with the teams at Exclusive Events, Event Luxe, and our own.
With personalized cocktails served in pink and rose glasses and whimsical garden-inspired floral hedges, the whole look was picture-perfect.
To compliment Nicole’s elegance, the team at Belli Fiori crafted a stunning bouquet of white blossoms, including peonies, mini-calla lilies, white garden roses, and hydrangea. We chose a traditional round bouquet to compliment her wedding dress and crisp, timeless style.
For the bridesmaid’s bouquets, we chose delicate shades of blue, blush and cream. To blend these colors together in a seamless harmony, we included subtle accents of sage green. And for the style, we maintained the classic, rounded style of the bridal bouquet while allowing for a bit more airiness to the design in keeping with the garden-inspired palette.
The Reception
Nicole and Chris loved every detail of their wedding reception design from the custom linens to the one-of-a-kind cake display.
Flowers were one of the most important things to Nicole, and she wanted them incorporated in as many areas as possible. While she wanted the color palette to remain crisp and timeless, she wanted her florals to feel more whimsical and romantic, with various shades of pink, blush, cream and blue.
Pièce de résistance… the cake! A cake floating on air before your very eyes— say WHAT?!?! Nicole wanted a unique cake and Meadowbrook Country Club outdid themselves. Although the cake was very unique, we still wanted to ensure that the overall impact was magnificent. So we created a custom cake stand and base. Inside the custom stand, we designed an exquisite floral arrangement that appeared to be spilling through the acrylic and onto the floor. Everything about the illusion worked perfectly.
Along with crafting a custom “cake stand,” we created a 24-foot-long band facade that boasted a menagerie of blue delphinium, pink garden roses and white hydrangea.
With lush, garden-esque style floral centerpieces, each of the table designs was custom-made to inspire awe among guests. Numerous glass candlesticks flanked each centerpiece, serving as sentinels in the night. Another layer of votives provided warmth and opulence.
Every table was adorned with exquisite custom linens, chargers and napkins, adding to the day's air of sophistication.
Since Nicole adores peonies, we made sure the focal point of the sweetheart table reflected her love by incorporating peonies, as well as garden roses, calla lilies and blue delphinium, of course! We created an exquisite low table design that covered the edge of the sweetheart table and spilled off over the edge. Two stunning tall arrangements surrounded Nicole and Chris on either side of the sweetheart table.
Nicole and Chris’ enthusiasm for a one-of-a-kind celebration shone through in every detail of their wedding day, as did their love for one another and their family. We could not be more grateful that we had the opportunity to share in their wonderful celebration. Cheers to many years of love and happiness!
