Adam and Heather happen to be my neighbors. When they finally got engaged, I was so honored to be asked to do their wedding flowers. The wedding and reception took place at the Wooden Nickel Winery in Litchfield (where the groom is from) about one hour northeast of St. Louis. My husband Joe acted as my assistant that day and things went pretty smooth except for the huge amount of rain the day before, the fact that the ceremony location was flooded from the creek that run through the property and we ended up having to "flip" the patio from ceremony to reception. All in all, things went pretty well and we were able to get everything set, back to the hotel to shower and then back to the Wooden Nickel to be guests at the wedding.
Heather really wanted the flowers to have a garden, wild-flower feel. We used a lot of mason jars, french buckets, twine and old family photos to decorate. For dessert, instead of doing a wedding cake they did a pie station - did I tell you I love, love, love pie.
What a fabulous day it turned out to be.
