Today’s featured wedding is a sleek, modern affair at the Marriott Grand Crystal Ballroom, which we designed in collaboration with Katie Saeger Events. Linda & Greg’s day featured a diamond motif and marble details with a neutral color palette accented with modern floral elements in a soft peach. The modern details of the day were a lovely juxtaposition to the classic architecture of the Crystal Ballroom.
Linda came to us with a vision of a modern, asymmetrical magnolia blossom bouquet. The issue, however, was that magnolia blossoms are incredibly hard to work with. They brown easily from the oils in our hands, so even if the floral designer is able to keep them pristine, there is a high likelihood that they won’t survive being carried around by a bride all day between photos and the ceremony. Luckily we were able to find beautiful silk magnolia blossoms that looked and felt real, but were able to stand up to a full day of being carried. Paired with a variety of real greenery, it was a stunning bouquet and looked amazing with Linda’s classic sheath dress! Her bridesmaids carried soft peach bouquets of stock, roses and greenery that popped against their grey dresses and tied into the reception floral.
From the ceremony framed by the beautiful arched windows of the ballroom, to the candlelight reception, the day was filled with love and perfectly embodied Linda & Greg’s style. Even the favors, chocolate dipped fortune cookies (a nod to Linda’s Chinese-American heritage) tied in to the modern marble design of the day. Thank you to the wonderful Clary Pfeiffer for capturing such beautiful images!

Spring in St. Louis is my favorite time of year. Blue skies, newly green trees, playoff hockey… what’s not to love?! Its no wonder spring is one of the most popular wedding seasons! Today’s feature is classically spring, from the pale pink peonies in the bride’s bouquet to the soft pastel palette of the reception, which took place at one of our favorite venues.
Robyn and Caleb came to us through our friend Lacy of Lacy Branch Events for their May wedding at St. Francis Xavier and the Caramel Room. Their reception venue selection was the perfect fit, with the dark wood tones and crystal chandeliers of the ballroom providing the perfect backdrop for this sparkling, romantic reception!
Lacy designed the room to incorporate long and round tables, which is our favorite way to add interest to a floor plan and incorporate a variety of table designs. She also selected the perfect shimmery linens to set the tone in the space.
On the round tables we alternated low floral arrangements accented by glass taper candlesticks (which were a new addition to our rental offerings last year) and a classic rounded arrangement in our silver mercury compote. The long tables all incorporated mirrored runners, which added an interesting dimension and extra sparkle to the room. For the long perimeter tables we custom-built standing frames and “floated” strands of pale pink orchids for an unexpected look. The tables flanking the dance floor were lush with floral hedges, floating candles and small floral compotes. Everything came together beautifully and provided the perfect setting for Robyn and Caleb to dance the night away with their guests! Thank you to Lacy for bringing us onto the team, and to Switzerfilm for capturing the day!

Jessica and Jason were a super sweet couple to work with. They trusted everything that Lacy Branch Events and I put before them. All the design elements came together and they were blown away the day of the wedding. The colors focused on blush pink and ivory. It was truly stunning at the Renaissance Grand on Washington Avenue downtown… the perfect mix of soft color and soft texture.

Blair and her mom came to see me with their wedding designer, Lacy Branch of Lacy Branch Events. Lacy and I had already had a meeting prior to them coming in and we were super excited about what we were going to show them. Lacy had these beautiful Navy Sequin Linens made that we paired with shades of pink flowers and grey containers. Blair and her mom, Lynda, were so excited when we showed them what we had in mind for the reception. They just loved everything when they saw it at the studio. Little did that prepare them for what it was going to look like in the Grand Hall of the Peabody Opera House!
I am so happy that I was able to be a part of their day. It was a gorgeous day filled with happiness and love… What more do you need for a wedding?

Working with Lacy Branch for the design concept for this wedding was a new experience. Never before had we done all long tables in a space. We have mixed long tables and round tables a few other times, but this wedding was on a smaller scale so Lacy wanted something very dramatic. With the wedding in September, Lacy and the bride opted for a color palette of Red and Gold with White Floral to help lighten things up a bit.
With a beautiful ceremony at Graham Chapel on the campus of Washington University, then the exquisite reception at Coronado Ballroom, it was indeed a day to remember. The event was styled/coordinated by Lacy Branch Events and photographed by Callaway Gable. Check it out…
What an amazing design with amazing vendors. A great wedding to work on!
