Pastel Perfection: Robyn & Caleb’s Springtime Wedding

April 20th, 2017

Posted by Kimberly Wallner

Spring in St. Louis is my favorite time of year. Blue skies, newly green trees, playoff hockey… what’s not to love?! Its no wonder spring is one of the most popular wedding seasons! Today’s feature is classically spring, from the pale pink peonies in the bride’s bouquet to the soft pastel palette of the reception, which took place at one of our favorite venues.

Robyn and Caleb came to us through our friend Lacy of Lacy Branch Events for their May wedding at St. Francis Xavier and the Caramel Room. Their reception venue selection was the perfect fit, with the dark wood tones and crystal chandeliers of the ballroom providing the perfect backdrop for this sparkling, romantic reception!

Lacy designed the room to incorporate long and round tables, which is our favorite way to add interest to a floor plan and incorporate a variety of table designs. She also selected the perfect shimmery linens to set the tone in the space.

On the round tables we alternated low floral arrangements accented by glass taper candlesticks (which were a new addition to our rental offerings last year) and a classic rounded arrangement in our silver mercury compote. The long tables all incorporated mirrored runners, which added an interesting dimension and extra sparkle to the room. For the long perimeter tables we custom-built standing frames and “floated” strands of pale pink orchids for an unexpected look. The tables flanking the dance floor were lush with floral hedges, floating candles and small floral compotes. Everything came together beautifully and provided the perfect setting for Robyn and Caleb to dance the night away with their guests! Thank you to Lacy for bringing us onto the team, and to Switzerfilm for capturing the day!

Stunning July 4th Wedding at the Four Seasons

June 28th, 2016

Posted by Kimberly Wallner

While most of St. Louis was hanging out in Forest Park last July 4th, our team was at the Four Seasons downtown setting up for Nicole and Dan’s stunning wedding reception. Designed by Lacy Branch Events, this affair was not what you typically envision when you think of a 4th of July wedding. Lacy took the bride’s love of the color red and ran with it in the most fabulous way, including a custom red dance floor. She also incorporated the couple’s love of Art Deco architecture through details on the stationary and cake, along with nods to the Arch. The bright red was complemented by gold and silver tones, making the room rich and dramatic. We were so excited to see the photos captured by the wonderful team at Switzerfilm!

Nicole and Dan, thank you for letting us be a part of your amazing wedding day. Happy {almost} one year anniversary!

Sea of Orchids: A Modern Wedding At Palladium

March 31st, 2016

Last month we were honored to be named Florist of the Year at the annual St. Louis Wedding Awards. We submitted three weddings to be judged by industry experts in other cities, and were so thrilled to bring home the title for the second time! Our previous post featuring Catherine and Will’s winter wedding at the Peabody was our first entry, and today’s feature was our second.

Sara and Brent were brought to us by Lacy Branch Events, and we knew immediately that this would be a fun one. Sara LOVES orchids, bold colors, and wanted an inviting reception that included elements of fire, water and earth. We worked with Lacy to design four different centerpieces for the mix of round and king’s tables, which utilized the most stunning fuchsia Phaelaenopsis Orchids, as well as Dendrobium Orchids, stock, snapdragons and bear grass. Each table also featured water, candles and river rocks to tie in Sara’s theme. The Palladium absolutely glowed as the sun went down and the candles were lit.

Sara’s mom, Betsy, wrote the loveliest description of the space in the letter she sent for our awards submission: “Orchids cascaded around polished rocks setting off the cake table in the front. Floral arrangements at varying heights welcomed guests to their dining tables. The large king’s tables with orchids appearing to be suspended in air as they rested on acrylic risers were illuminated in the soft glow of candles grounded in rocks set in water. The head table continued the theme with a low profile water, rock, and floral arrangement so the wedding party view was unobstructed… The fuchsia orchids were the perfect bold color to complement the earthy elements in the room.” We couldn’t have described it better! It truly was a magical atmosphere.

Pretty Blush Wedding

September 22nd, 2013

Jessica and Jason were a super sweet couple to work with. They trusted everything that Lacy Branch Events and I put before them.  All the design elements came together and they were blown away the day of the wedding. The colors focused on blush pink and ivory.  It was truly stunning at the Renaissance Grand on Washington Avenue downtown…  the perfect mix of soft color and soft texture.

A Fresh, Spring Wedding

August 23rd, 2013

Blair and her mom came to see me with their wedding designer, Lacy Branch of Lacy Branch Events. Lacy and I had already had a meeting prior to them coming in and we were super excited about what we were going to show them. Lacy had these beautiful Navy Sequin Linens made that we paired with shades of pink flowers and grey containers. Blair and her mom, Lynda, were so excited when we showed them what we had in mind for the reception. They just loved everything when they saw it at the studio.  Little did that prepare them for what it was going to look like in the Grand Hall of the Peabody Opera House!

I am so happy that I was able to be a part of their day.  It was a gorgeous day filled with happiness and love… What more do you need for a wedding?

Featured Wedding – Mindy & Troy

Working with Lacy Branch for the design concept for this wedding was a new experience.  Never before had we done all long tables in a space.  We have mixed long tables and round tables a few other times, but this wedding was on a smaller scale so Lacy wanted something very dramatic.  With the wedding in September, Lacy and the bride opted for a color palette of Red and Gold with White Floral to help lighten things up a bit.

With a beautiful ceremony at Graham Chapel on the campus of Washington University, then the exquisite reception at Coronado Ballroom, it was indeed a day to remember. The event was styled/coordinated by Lacy Branch Events and photographed by Callaway Gable.  Check it out…
