A Springtime Table Two Ways

Last spring we were thrilled to be invited to participate in a “From Cute to Couture” styled shoot for STL Bride. We were tasked with creating a budget-conscious table design alongside its upscale version. The concept highlights how you can take inspiration from a high-end design and still have a beautiful table design without breaking the bank. Most brides scour Pinterest while planning their wedding, but don’t always have the budget for the over-the-top designs often found on the site, so this shoot was the perfect opportunity to showcase how you can edit an elaborate design to better fit your wedding budget or style!

Our “couture” table design started with the beautiful blue Mist Bravado linen from BBJ, which we had been dying to use since it was added to their collection. Other elevated elements included the ivory King Louie chair from Aries, our gold glass charger and gold flatware. For the centerpiece we used a large gold mercury compote filled with an organic arrangement featuring peonies and ranunculus, paired with two smaller compotes of the same flowers. A variety of candles added to the lush feel to the table; by mixing gold and clear glass elements we were able to keep the design light and airy.

With our “cute” table we wanted to incorporate elements that many of the venues we work at most include for their clients: round guest tables, Chivari chairs, and basic table settings. We selected gold acrylic chargers to elevate the setting while remaining economical. For the centerpiece, we used the same gold mercury compote, again filled with organic floral and greenery, but this time incorporating less expensive blooms. While organic style centerpieces are never cheap due to the number of stems required to design them, they can be made more economical by selecting roses instead of peonies, as we did here. We paired the floral with cute votive candles, which are a great way to add sparkle to a table design without breaking the bank.

Thank you to STL Bride for inviting us to take part in this shoot and to Bliss Eleven for the beautiful images!
